Our Story

The Prudie & Primmie Story

Prudie & Primmie is an Australian-owned boutique baby and children’s wear brand, creating high-quality, thoughtfully designed clothing made to be worn and loved by the cherished, adventurous child.

Founded by twin sisters Ali Gebhardt and Kate Webster, our story begins in the rolling green hills of South Australia's Fleurieu Peninsula - where we grew up surrounded by the simple joys of farm life. We started Prudie & Primmie as a tribute to our beloved mum, Prudence, ‘Prudie’, who passed away in 2008, and the tenderness she had for her family and her cherished horse, Primrose - 'Primmie' - who she raised from a foal.

Since then, our lives have taken us in different directions, both raising young families of our own. Kate has made her home in the heart of London, while Ali is raising her family on a farm in regional South Australia.

Inspired by the freedom of country living - and the pace of busy little days - we design practical pieces that move through every moment with ease.

From the coffee shop to the birthday party, our clothes are built for the curious, spirited child who never stops moving.

Designed with love, and made for the adventure of childhood.

A Tribute

Growing up, we watched the adventures between Mum and Prim, from attending May School, the annual equestrian training camp, to three-day events, bringing home armfuls of blue ribbons each time.

Mum had farming and horses in her veins and balanced working the land while raising two busy girls.

Reflecting on her mindset of no fuss, not being afraid to get your hands dirty and wearing various hats of mother, wife, farmer, social coordinator, chef, and many more in between, we bring to you Prudie & Primmie.
